You may also want to use this periodic table for future chemistry assignments. The Periodic Table is about to become your new best friend!
Periodic Table of Elements Happy Mole Day! - 6:02 am - 6:02 pm on 10/23! Avogadro's number is the number of particles in 1 mole. The Mole is like a dozen. You can have a dozen eggss, a dozen roosters, or a dozen roses. If you have 12 of anything then you would have what we call a dozen. The concept of the mole is just like the concept of a dozen. Except the mole is a REALLY big number. Avogadro's number is 602,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (6.02 x 1023). To show how big a number the mole unit is consider the following:
A mole is the amount of pure substance containing the same number of chemical units as there are atoms in exactly 12 grams of carbon-12. This means, for any given element or compound, a mole of that substance is equivalent to the mass of the element on the periodic chart in grams. These are also called molar masses and reported in g/mol. Watch & Enjoy! This is your new blog post. Click here and start typing, or drag in elements from the top bar.
